Understanding Neuroplasticity
Neuroplasticity is the brain's ability to create new neural pathways. This plays an important role in breaking unwanted habits and forming new positive health behaviors.
- Apply the concept of neuroplasticity to reinforce the hardwiring of your new positive health behavior.

Breaking Habits
Creating new habits can take anywhere from 30 to 60 days, or even longer. Remember, practicing these skills will help you to hardwire new healthy habits.
- Identify one habit that you would like to stop. Incorporate the steps for breaking unwanted habits.

S.M.A.R.T. Goals
S.M.A.R.T. goals support you in creating clear and specific steps for achieving your health goals. Each week you will be working with your healthcare provider to create a S.M.A.R.T. goal.

Gaining an understanding of mindfulness will help support you in achieving your health behavior goals. This week, start to pay attention to your daily choices.

Negativity Bias
Learning to become aware of your own "negativity bias" helps you to pay attention to our thoughts and emotions in relationship to how you feel towards yourself and others. The S.T.O.P. method can support better relationships and physical health. Learn to S.T.O.P.:
- [S] Stop
- [T] Take a breath
- [O] Observe how you feel
- [P] Proceed mindfully
